Day -1: Why?

Why do we do this?  Why am I specifically doing this?

I believe that God is an awesome, miracle-working God.  I believe that He is delighted when His children step out in faith and that He is eager to hear and answer our prayers.  His desire to have a closer relationship with us is far, far greater than our desire to have such a relationship with Him.

2 Chron 16:9 - For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.

The problem isn't God.  It's me.  I dither and faff when I actually want to (should ...) read and study the Bible and pray.  I quickly check my emails before opening the Bible or starting to pray and then get sidetracked.

Is it any wonder that we no longer see miracles?  That there are doctrines which state that miracles passed away with the apostles?

Sorry.  I don't buy that. Heb 13:8 - Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.  His miracle working power has not changed and it is still available.

The problem isn't God.  It's me.  And that is going to change over the next 40 days.

How about you?  Why are you doing this (or, why are you NOT doing it)?  What do you want God to do for you between now and 28 November?  Leave a comment.  Remember, we're all in it together :)
